Mesa Damas is a convicted murderer who was born on December 30, 1976, in Haiti. Damas migrated to the United States in his early years and settled in Collier County, Florida. He was married to Guerline Damas and had six children with her.
Damas made headlines in September 2009, when he brutally murdered his wife and their five children, ages 11, 9, 7, 5, and 3, in their home in Naples, Florida. After the murder, Damas fled to Haiti, where he was later apprehended and extradited back to the United States.
He was found guilty of six counts of first-degree murder in October 2011 and was sentenced to death. Damas has been on Florida's death row since 2011. He has filed several appeals that were denied by the courts.
